Designing rooms with a theme is one way to enliven a space through art and content. When designing the Rose room in Lundo, Heinz Grill used the spiritual archetype of the rose to explain how light shapes out the plant. What was interesting was his statement that the thorns are the part of the rose most rich in light.

In the Rose room there are various wall paintings: a rounded branch with rose hips, the fruit of rose plants, a rose the size of a body and falling rose petals. On the ceiling, roses are woven in a circle to form a large wreath.

According to the insights of Heinz Grill, the thematic design of rooms stimulates an imaginative thought process; the observer and the artist approach a theme in a practical and simple way.

“The rose is the noblest of all medicinal plants.” From the text: “The healing power of the soul and the nature of selfless service”.
