The wide stretch konāsana

Konāsana is translated by Heinz Grill as wide stretch. In this video, when Reimund Frank performs the pose, you can see how carefully he coordinates his upper body and legs.

In the final position, when the upper body rests on the floor, the whole body stretches out again, widely across the ground.
At the same time, however, the flow from the legs and also from the lower back visibly gathers in the region of the sacrum.

A carefully coordination by the upper body and the legs gathering to the region of the sacrum, allows the upper body to smoothly approach the ground.

The legs actively support a gathering in the sacrum area. The upper body remains free. The lower back also gathers towards the sacrum area.
This allows the upper body to smoothly approach the ground. Out of the gathering, the whole body stretches widely across the ground.

This ability to gather and expand at the same time is described by Heinz Grill as an ability of the soul.
