Bansuri Shyamaki – Mantra Chanting – Part 2

‘Bansuri Shyamaki’ is a traditional Indian mantra that expresses confidence. The flute played by the god Krishna is an expression of the wise future human being.

Literal meaning: Bansuri = Indian bamboo flute, Shyamaki = Krishna, who has night-blue skin (as a symbol of the cosmos), Rama = previous incarnation of Krishna, Prabho = Lord (in the sense of an honorific title)

How can singing radiate outwards?

FIRST STEP: Each line of the song is sung twice. Listen carefully to the first part and try to sing along when it is repeated. This will help you to memorise the simple lyrics and melody of the song.

SECOND STEP: At the beginning of the video, listen to the flute playing and imagine a flute being brought to life by the player’s breath. Then sing along again during the verse repetitions and try to keep the image of the flute in your mind. In this way, you will gradually develop a sense of the content of the mantra.

THIRD STEP: Before listening and singing, briefly reflect on the power of confidence, which shines outwards like the sun and gives people a perspective for the future. Then listen to the whole mantra again and observe how the singing radiates outwards. Then sing the song on your own, imagining the notes rising forwards and upwards. This will make the singing radiate more outwards.
